No argument here. It appears he's gotten much better at this as the series 
has gone along.

Still, to me, Athyra was the high-water mark, and while the books since 
then are of a higher standard (in this regard) than those before it, the 
last 4 books have not *quite* lived up to what he did in that work. 
Probably /Issola/ comes closest.

Indeed.

Still, knowing the reasons *why* things are the way they are doesn't 
change the facts themselves. Just makes it easier to understand them.
