The conclusion *also* emphasizes that being a Dzur is being prepared 
before rushing headlong to letting blood, and that is exactly what Vlad 
does.  Bear in mind that he isn't completely sure Telnan is going to be 
there in time until he is.  That Vlad is not a Dzur is evident; that he 
has in effect put on a Dzur cloak for a while is also evident, IMHO.
