I've argued for Phoenix being a top-to-bottom masterpiece before, and I stand by my belief that when all books are written Phoenix will remain the pivot point (and maybe even dead center in the timeline).

1. Phoenix
2. Issola - It's just really, really, really funny.
3. Athrya - As (I think) Jon said, this book has more to say about Vlad than any others. Brutally honest, and just better written than I think people realize. Flawed in a most beautiful way.
4. (tie) Dzur and Dragon - both equally good, but not my overall favorites
6. (tie) Taltos and Orca - just for the various interactions between the main players
8. Teckla - It's vital. It's needed. I love it. But I hate reading it.
9. Jhereg - Don't get me wrong, it's good. Just overmuch. SKZB learned a lot more since.
10. Yendi - Enjoyable, forgettable. But made better by the Paarfiad.
