I don't think "discount" is much better.  You're running I think into a
sorites-like problem - he's saying "this is a pile of white marbles with
one blue marble in it - taking out the blue marble leaves a pile of white
marbles", while you're saying, "this a pile of marbles including a blue
marble, to note there are some white marbles is to discount the blue one".
