Indeed, at the tail end of _Phoenix_ Vlad pretty much had told Verra to buzz
off and leave him alone. It seems unlikely that he would seek her aid after
that, with the pain of his "divorce" still so recent. He'd have little
occasion to be inconvenienced by the lack of Verra's presence during a time
when he was probably actively avoiding having anything to do with her. I
imagine he was grateful for the lack of "Verra-ness" instead of questioning
it like he might have done if, say, he was escorting Noish-pa on a visit
back to the homeland.
