Just to be a stickler, Khaavren's appearance is actually in /Teckla/, not /Phoenix/. 

IIRC, Khaavren is mentioned in /Phoenix/ only as having had a tiff with Zerika (over the Press Gangs) and resigning (again). 

He also get a nod in /Orca/, due to the goings-on of the Special Tasks Group.

I completely agree with the rest of your statement, however. BP is an enlightening read when placed in context with the other stories, but stands alone as a story of its own.

I'm wondering how much Steve will draw (if anything) from BP when talking about Vlad's trip East (assuming that's what he's writing now, of course).
