Looking around at a list of animals and their traits I was struck by a
couple ideas that maybe Steve might find useful.
Keep in mind that there are a number of dangling plot points that have yet
to be tied up, and that they may appear in any of these stories.
Lyorn -- A lyorn represents tradition. This book might have something to do
with Vlad trying to take the role of Noish-pa for his son, if Noish-pa
himself can't (he is, after all, very old, witch or not)
Tiassa -- If Lady Teldra hasn't woken up in the forthcoming book, perhaps
something might happen in Tiassa that provokes her to "consciousness" or
perhaps Vlad intuits a number of things about himself/the gods/his purpose
etc.
Tsalmoth -- almost certainly involves Verra in large quantities. can't have
a book about "unpredictability" without the Demon Goddess of Chaos poking
her nose in every now and then.
Vallista -- This book might have something to do with Vlad trying to build a
household for himself, Vlad Norathar, and maybe even Cawti against what is
sure to be heavy opposition from any number of potential sources. This
assumes a number of things: Cawti and him get back together, Vlad becomes a
responsible father upon his discovery of VN's existence, that Vlad doesn't
work out a deal with some of those "potential sources" or downright scare
them off with Lady Teldra to prevent them from opposing his attempt to live
a normal life.
Iorich -- might involve Vlad coming clean about his past to someone, most
probably someone who doesn't serve in an official capacity :P Perhaps this
includes him making his own kind of reparations to those he perceives as
victims of his younger days. It will probably include a rendition of the
earliest of Vlad's incarcerations, possibly as reminiscences (possibly after
restoring his memory to pre-Verra levels)
Chreotha -- I imagine this will deal with the Jhereg's greatest attempt to
do unto Vlad.
Jhegaala -- No real point in speculating at this point.
The Final Contract -- This is supposed to deal with Godslayer's purpose,
which is apparently to kill Verra, or at least render her unable to manifest
in a certain way. There are at least three planes on which Verra can
manifest: the mortal plane, the halls of Judgement, and her own halls.
Given that Blackwand isn't as good as Godslayer at slaying gods, it's been
speculated that killing with Godslayer renders a God unable to manifest in
ANY plane. But given who and what Verra is, I find that unlikely.
