re-reading _PotD_ and there was a passing comment that Khaavren at one point looked out over the red waves of the sea.
It would make sense, wouldn't it, with the enclouding being reddish, that a large body of water which reflects the colour of the atmosphere would therefore be red if the atmosphere was also coloured red.
So, not really a huge change, perhaps, but I had always unconsciously considered the oceans on Dragaera to be blue. Picturing them as reddish gives the planet an altogether more alien appearance in my mind's eye.
There's also a question that leaps into mind:
Disregarding the magical or physical physics involved in the accumulation of Enclouding over areas where sorcery is widely used, if we can equate it to smog (such is my understanding, that it's intended as a magical equivalent to smog), how long would it stick around before dispersing if everyone involved in its accumulation suddenly stopped causing it to be accumulated (with a few exceptions)?
I mean, as far as I can tell, Adron's disaster brought to an abrupt halt all magically "polluting" processes. Sure, a smog cloud that large would linger, but for how long? Remember the Interregnum lasted CENTURIES. And is Pre-empire sorcery to blame? Is it only orb-based sorcery that causes it? Or is it simply the harnessing of amorphia that causes it?
Or am I taking the analogy between the Enclouding and smog too literally?
