Re-reading the prologue to /Jhegaala/, I became interested in what the 
exact joke is to the name of the village, Burz.

A little digging online came up with the Hungarian word "bûz", which 
roughly translates as "*stink, stench, odour, reek".

No wonder Vlad laughs when he hears the name for the first time.
