Well, our good James has spoken with such delicacy of wit that I
scarcely know how to respond, since the stylistic graces of a Paarfi
do not fall readily from my lips (or my fingers).  Still, it is a
pleasant thing so to be complimented at so early an hour of the morning
that neither my hair nor my thoughts have seen the mollifying influence
of a comb, and I thank him.
