Dear me.  That's a favorite theme of C. S. Lewis's; you find it
in _Ihe Four Loves_ and elsewhere.  Quoting from memory:

"Here, buried by her grieving brothers,
Lies the remains of Mrs. Clay.
She was a woman who lived for others;
Now she has peace.  And so have they."
