I've personally always rationalised that as Sethra not being able to
be *distracted* for that long. A quick jaunt out as Kiera, while her
sorcerous abilities are all still on watch for the Jenoine? Fine.
Assaulting an Athyra wizard in his keep? Even for the Enchantress of
Dzur Mountain, that's tiring and distracting. Plus, this is a perfect
trial-by-fire for the forming tool that is Vlad — and it lets him
acquire Spellbreaker. For all we know, Verra could have told Sethra to
lie her little undead arse off, just so long as Vlad got into that
keep at the hour appointed by fate.
