Well, given that the humans are supposed to have arrived on a ship, and 
that "hours in a day" doesn't mean much in space unless we force the 
issue, they may have had plenty of time to adjust en route.

Personally, I'm in the camp that would love a thirty hour day.  I think 
I'd get used to it pretty quick.  (And a ten-hour sleep schedule sounds 
kinda nice when one considers the hours a Jhereg keeps...:)
