Well, I think the part about Habil and Loraan makes it clear that Paarfi thinks 
you don't lose your link by rebelling, and Adron's feelings during the 
assassination tend to corroborate that.  It doesn't seem like something Paarfi 
would be wrong about.  Every citizen of the Empire has a link, and there's 
always a rebellion going on somewhere--I imagine well-educated people would know 
what happens.
