Primus, it's not clear that Vlad knew who Devera's mother was prior to
that.  Devera refers to "mommy" several times in _Yendi_, but doesn't name
her.  Vlad might have inferred that she was referring to Aliera, but not
necessarily (see below).

Conversely, in _Tiassa_, Devera mentions the *name* Vlad Norathar, but not
the relationship of that person to Vlad.  At this point in his life, Vlad
hasn't even heard of Norathar herself.

Secundus, weird, otherworldly experiences are things that Vlad doesn't
generally like to dwell on.
