[Dragaera] Dragaera Digest, Vol 113, Issue 1

I would suspect it is related to how Vlad wears Darrskin boots because
they're pretty much waterproof, and iirc not leaving wet tracks--I suspect
he was being chased by an unfriendly who was more or less right behind him,
had to jump a crevasse with the philosophy of "if the only way I can
survive is to do something impossible, I will do something impossible" and
then, crossing some kind of water--a stream, or a puddle, hid, and waited
for his pursuer(s) to leave tracks, whereupon he turned the tables on them
and killed them.
