When we were setting up (the now mostly derelict) dragaera.info site we
talked about this.  IIRC, he's generally in favor of people creating
fan-fic but (a) doesn't wish to see it personally and (b) can't officially
endorse any particular example.  DDB may have more definite and/or specific
recollections.



Apropos, I think having a place *on* dragaera.info for people to submit and
publish Fanfiction was one of the original purposes -- this keeps it off
his own site (dreamcafe.com) where it would be harder for him to avoid
stumbling across.  If one or several examples existed it might light a fire
back up under that feature and maybe even cause some level of updating that
site in a more general sense.

something written, not much but seems to confirm my impression.
