So, Aliera could actually have been a primary source for Paarfi concerning
most of the material related to both her and Adron and possibly Sethra as
well, presuming that she and Sethra really spent as much time together as
Paarfi portrays them.
I'm not sure what you're referring to that would anger her. Per Paarfi,
everyone is the soul of courtliness. Even the criminals are well-mannered
and respectful of each other. What's there for her to be angry about?
Indeed, if Aliera, through Paarfi, has managed to white-wash her father's
part in the Catastrophe then she's likely to be pleased as punch. As far as
Aliera mouthing off to Sethra and challenging her to a duel every other day;
well, she really IS like that even in the Vladiad. The only exception being
that she prefers to mouth off to Morrolan's party guests instead of to
Sethra. All of the talk about her beauty being the talk of the Court and the
fanciful first encounter with Mario, where he's dumbstruck and would prefer
to be caught than to look away? Propaganda and self-indulgence.
Really, the whole book starts to make a lot more sense if Aliera herself is
supplying most of the information to Paarfi.
