While I don't believe we've ever seen anyone or anything teleported remotely from a great distance towards the sorcerer, it has been implied that a Necromantic Gate may be more useful for this sort of thing. 

Sethra, being a Necromancer and Wizard as well as a "normal" sorcerer has many avenues open to her for such things.
