It's not obvious to me that 2010 - 19xx is harder than 240 PI - 2yy PI, 
if one is nonchalant about fence posts etc.  And I could see Vlad being 
obsessed with his age since most of the people he knows either don't 
in effect age or don't age full stop.  He might think for example, I'm 
as old as my mother was when she died, or It's been 20 years since my 
father died when I was 14.
