Possibly, like the Chinese, Dragaerans use "ten thousand" as a more ornate way of saying "infinity of countable objects". Or given Telnan's apparent (lack of) knowledge and experience, he might consider everything at 10K years or more just to be on the same amount of time, the way some kids refer to 100/1k years.
