Mmm.  You've heard of "etc."?

Word nerd alert: "et" is latin for "and".  The character "&" was
originally a stylized combination of the letters "et".  The name of
the character, "ampersand", was originally meant to be "and, /per se/
and".

Thus, "&c" is exactly equivalent to "etc".
