The Amber novels certainly fit the "cool theory of literature".  Much
like with Brust and Vlad, I don't just like to *read* Zelazny, I want
to *be* Corwin (although when Julian draws his bloody lance out of the
manticore, sticks it in the ground, and tethers his horse to it, I
very much want to be Julian).
