Spoilers for Taltos

> Does the stuff in the vial resemble human blood?

> Did he open the vial when he got it?

Taltos, Chapter 7 - When [Kiera] turned back to me, she was holding
something in her hand. I took it. It was a small, clear vial with a dark
liquid inside; perhaps an ounce ... She handed me a small pouch on a cord.
I slipped the vial into it and put it around my neck. I said, "What's in
the vial?" She paused, appearing to consider, then covered her head again.
"The blood of a goddess." ... When I got back home, I took it out of its
pouch and studied it. It was dark and could have been blood as easily as
anything else, I suppose. I shook it, which was perhaps foolish but no harm
came of it. Yeah, maybe it was blood. Then again, maybe not. I put the
vial back in the pouch. I chose not to open it.

Taltos, Chapter 17 - Wait, the vial . . . no, I had it in my hand. Good
move, Vlad. I held it up. A dark, dark liquid in a clear vial with a
rubber stopper. [He cuts Morrolan's arm] I handed the vial to Aliera and
said, "Open." ... I grabbed Morrolan's arm and held the vial against the
cut. I told him, "You're a witch. Make the liquid go into your arm."

Taltos, Chapter 17 - [Morrolan] I wonder what he gave me? ... [Aliera] If
we get out of this, we can ask him later.

Taltos, Chapter 17 - I never /have/ told Morrolan what was in it. Whenever
he asks, I just smile and look smug.

None of the three appear to recognize the substance as blood, but only
Morrolan [*] really had any contact with it.

Bryan

[*] When Aliera opened the vial, didn't she at least sniff it or something?
