In some ways yes, in some ways no.

I get the feeling that Archie is more ?respect? ?admiration? ?even awe?
 for Wolfe's intellect than does Liosh for Vlad.

Some of the patter is there, and certainly with Vlad you actually get a
 really good reason for there being a sidekick (though Liosh would not
 want to be so characterized.

For the last month, I have been doing a rapid re-reading of Rex Stout
 as 
a break from my physics class.  Does anyone else find a family 
resemblence of Liosh in Archie?  (And of course, the same family of 
Archie in Liosh.)
