I certainly learned the habit from a high-school-equivalent typing 
teacher. I unlearned it again, since I mostly learnt DTP from the 
Ventura Publisher manuals, which were quite clear up-front that it was 
wrong with proportional fonts. Oh, and hi, Geri.
