Page 136. Vlad goes on about the ignorance of a fellow witch and the impossibility of summoning demons using witchcraft. 

"To summon a demon requires breaking through the barriers that separate realities .... and there are strictly limited ways in which that can be done." He then points out that he transported an object thousands of miles using witchcraft.  I don't think you can measure the distance he transported the vial, right into the paths of the dead, in miles. Getting something that deep into the POD seems like one of those rifts in space and reality that he thinks witchcraft can't produce.

Sure looks like a setup for surprising Vlad with another refutation of what he is so sure of.
