John Shade.  I also like Freddy (/Freddy's Book/, by John
Gardner).  And Pierre Menard.  I like the little I've
read by Doc Drinkwater.

I assume the thousands of fictional writers of reminiscences
don't count.  Otherwise I'd be suggesting Severian, as
would many here, I think.
