Suppositions.  We have no way to know how many people do this.  Nor does 
it get any further along the path of figuring out how one would know 
where a GW was at any time--I refuse to believe that GW's shout out 
their existence to all and sundry across the Empire 24/17.  (For one 
thing it would make protecting the wielder harder to do.)  Anyone 
sufficiently sensitive & skilled *might* realize it if he or she came 
into contact with Vlad, but I doubt they would otherwise.  And even 
then, maybe not if Vlad has no reason to draw.  Only Blackwand seems to 
announce itself while still sheathed.

(This raises a different question:  are there now 18 GW's?  Seems to me 
I recall Vlad saying in Jhereg that it was common knowledge there were 
17, but Lady Teldra had not yet been created.)
