I would think being a member of the house gets you participation in the 
politics and swings of fortune of said house, with potential to draw upon 
the house treasury.  I kind of think of it as a union to be honest.... and 
when your house is on the upswing in the cycle, there would most definitely 
be benefits.... now, back to my long strange tripel bottle conditioned ale.. 
boulevard makes some very interesting things...
